About us

We are situated in the Quaker Meeting House, which is a light, bright and airy space perfect for welcoming young children to engage them in the EYFS.

We aim to provide high quality care and education for children, work in partnership with parents and offer children and their parents a service, which promotes equality and values diversity. We aim to offer your child a safe, happy and secure environment to develop their physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills.

Our Setting consists of two groups, Nursery - 2-3 yrs. and Pre-School - 3-4 yrs. Children spend their indoor learning time in these groups, to enable age-appropriate play and story times, but spend time together during outdoor play sessions.

We have a large shaded grassy area with flowerbeds and tubs, a bug hotel and inspection area, a mud kitchen with digging pit, chalk boards, a seating area for reading and lots of investigation areas to explore. A patio is also available which may be used for small groups of children as an outdoor learning area. The premises are enclosed by secure fencing with the gates being locked whenever children are playing outside.

Northfield Quaker Pre-School is fully committed to safeguarding the children in our care. We work with children, parents, and external agencies to ensure the welfare and safety of children. Every parent is given a handbook of our policies and procedures for them to read and keep for their reference. Some of policies included are – Safeguarding / Child protection, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and SEN policy.

(All children, including those with special educational needs / disabilities make good progress in their learning. They gain a good range of skills that prepare them well for their future leaning. Children are well motivated and continue their learning successfully during times when staff are not working directly with them.) – OFSTED 2018

We work closely with both parents and local health professionals to enhance our SEN provision.

Definitely recommend

My son has loved coming to pre-school from the outset. He has been encouraged to partake in a wide range of activities with constant positive reinforcement. He has developed good relationships with the staff and is a confident young man ready for school now. I would definitely recommend this preschool.

Very Pleased

We have been so pleased with Northfield Quaker Pre School, our daughter attended for nearly 18 months and was full time for the last year and just loved it! The staff are absolutely fantastic and they make it a fun and caring environment. My daughter also loved the forest school, Spanish lessons, music class and especially the dance lessons! The mud kitchen and digging area outside have also been great hits.

Beyond our expectation

The friendly and responsible carers at the nursery have helped my son to be grown up as bilingual as they helped a lot for my son to come along with English naturally. The nursery's Monday singing session and Friday dancing session also helped my son to develop his interests in singing and dancing so now he dances and sings all the time at home. When we needed so much help due to our own difficulties in the family, the nursery helped us by scheduling more sessions so that we felt very supported by the nursery (although it was very last-minute requests). Overall, our expectation of the nursery has been met way beyond our expectation. Thank you, Team!

Outstanding

Northfield Quaker nursery is outstanding. My daughter loves it, she is really growing with confidence. The staff are friendly and always happy to chat. There are a variety of activities including forest school and dance classes. They have a beautiful outdoor play area with lots of grass to run around on.
